Is membership free?
Using Adventure Journey is completely free. Becoming a registered user will enable you to Write a Blog Post, participate in Ask The World, and have your own Profile page—all for free! If you choose to purchase items through this site or through our advertisers, you will be required to pay for those items.
What if I forgot my password?
In the Sign In section of the site, click on the link “Forgot your password?” and then enter your email address. Be sure to use the email address that we have on file for you. We will verify the address and email your password to you.
What if I forgot my password and no longer have access to the email account you have on file?
The only option at this point is to cancel your account and then start a new account. Just think of the creativity you will be able to put into it! Start this process by going to the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page. Through the email form, select Regarding: Technical Support. In your email, request that we cancel your account and change your profile to Anonymous. Please also provide a method of proving your identity. Per your request and identity verification, we will change the information you have in the site from your username to the username of Anonymous. All accounts which have been cancelled are comingled into one Anonymous account.
I am having trouble creating an account.
Make sure that you have the computer language JavaScript enabled. In fixing this problem, each browser is different; the first steps are to click on Tools and then Options. A dialogue box will appear, through which you will be able to enable JavaScript.
Another problem might be the temporary storage that your web browser has on file. In fixing this problem, each browser is different; the first steps are to click on Tools and then either Clear Private Data or Delete Browsing History. Delete your browser’s cookies, temporary internet files and cache. You do not need to delete any history. Now close and reopen your browser in order to apply the changes.
You are good to go and join Adventure Journey!
How can I edit my personal information?
Once you are signed in, you will see an Edit Profile link in the top right corner. Once on the Edit My Profile page, click through the links in the column on the left in order to update your information. Be sure to save your changes before continuing. Changes may take up to 15 minutes to appear on the site.
May I upload any image size and format to my gallery?
You may upload .jpg and .gif images of any size, providing you have enough storage space.
Why do you need my email address?
It is important that we have a current and accurate email address for you so that if you forget your password, we will be able to send it to you. When you write a blog post or a forum question, you will have the ability to choose to be notified via email whenever someone responds to your posting. We do not use your personally identifiable information to send commercial or marketing messages. How can I change the email address you have on file for me?
On the Edit My Profile page, click on the Email link in the left column. Enter the email address you would like to associate with this account and save your changes.
How can I make my email address public/private?
On the Edit My Profile page, click on the Email link in the left column. Enter the email address you would like to associate with this account in either the Public or Private textbox. Save your changes.
Can I make my profile viewable to members only?
At this time, Profile pages are public and viewable. The ability to make Profile’s private will be in a future release.
How do I establish a Journey Network?
A Journey Network is a convenient way of navigating to the Profile pages of your friends. In order to add friends to your Journey Network, go to the Profile page of the user you want to add to your network. Click on “Add as a friend” located in the bottom left column. They will automatically be added to your Journey Network, with a link to their Profile page on your Profile page.
What is a Blog?
A blog is similar to an editorial article in which you are able to express your opinion or thoughts on a subject. People may comment on your blog, much as people respond to the editor.
What is Ask The World and how do Forums work?
Ask The World is a Forum in which multiple people can have a discussion. It is not a chat room in which all participants are online at the same time. A Forum is generally started with a small amount of background information and then a question. Other participants may provide answers, responses, and even additional and related questions.
What is a Tale From the Road?
A Tale From the Road is a section of your own page in which you may share stories based on your traveling experiences. Other users may surf to your Profile page and read your tales.
What is considered inappropriate content?
We seek to keep Adventure Journey a safe and positive environment for travelers. Do not use any vulgar or suggestive language. Do not post any revealing artwork or travel destinations. Adventure Journey is a site for travelers from different backgrounds and comfort levels. Please be sensitive to the concerns others might have.
